Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul Islam, chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), has resigned, citing health reasons.

He confirmed his resignation to journalists on Saturday, stating that he submitted his resignation letter to the Ministry of Finance that day.

Shibli Rubayat was abroad for official purposes until last Sunday (4 August). However, despite returning to Dhaka, he has not attended his office in the past several days.
