Awami League (AL) leaders based in Gopalganj on Wednesday vowed to bring back ousted premier Sheikh Hasina through demonstrations, and take revenge for all the “wrongs” done to her.
AL’s Gopalganj district unit President Mahbub Ali Khan administered the oath to the leaders at the altar of the Bangabandhu Mausoleum Complex in Tungipara town, Gopalganj.
“We would not return to our homes, until we can bring our leader (Hasina) back to the country. If necessary, we would wage intense movement for achieving our goal,” said GM Sahabuddin Azam, general secretary of AL’s Gopalganj unit.
“We would also fight back against the unrest created by the BNP-Jamaat clique,” said Mahbub, labeling the student movement that ousted Hasina’s government as a conspiracy of rival parties.
After the noon prayers at the complex mosque, the AL leaders prayed for the good health and long life of Hasina.
