The readymade garments (RMG) producers and exporters on Tuesday decided to keep all their factories open from Wednesday as the law and order situation has improved.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) announced the decision at an emergency meeting held Tuesday evening, according to a media statement.
BGMEA Director Mohiuddin Rubel said they always look for a business-friendly environment as any concerning situation hits exports.
Last year, globally Bangladesh held the second position, after China, on garment exports with 7.4% market share and $38 billion in export earnings, according to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
On the other hand, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) put the amount at $47.38 billion.
