Thousands of students and people from different walks of life have kept the Shahbagh intersection blocked from 10:00am on Sunday.
They are chanting slogans seeking the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The entire Shahbagh is reverberating with slogans.
The protesters have kept sticks in their hands which they claimed to resist the attacks of the ruling party men.
Several vehicles, including ambulances, were torched inside BSMMU. The FSCD doused the flames. The incident occurred at 12:30pm.
Many of the protesters, along with people from various professions, were seen coming in small processions from different parts of the city.
Movement of vehicles in Shahbag intersection and connecting roads has already came to a halt.
