A Dhaka court has placed BNP Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and banned Jamaat’s General Secretary Mia Golam Parwar on a three-day remand in connection with a case for vandalising Banani’s Setu Bhaban during the recent quota reform movement.

Other remanded accused are- BNP Organising Secretary Kazi Syedul Alam Babul, its Publicity Affairs Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, the party’s Dhaka North City unit Member Secretary Aminul Haque, party’s Bagerhat district unit convener MA Salam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam granted the remand on Thursday when police applied for a seven-day remand showing them arrested in connection with the Setu Bhaban vandalism case.

Police produced the accused before the court on completion of a five-day remand in another case filed for an arson attack at Kazipara Metrorail Station in the capital.
