About 40% of broadband connections nationwide have already been restored, with most lines expected to be reconnected by Wednesday, according to Md Emdadul Hoque, president of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB).

"We are working relentlessly to restore all connections and hope the majority of people will have internet access soon," he said.

Broadband internet connections began to be restored on a limited scale on Tuesday, following five days of a complete nationwide blackout due to the violence centering the quota reform protests.
