Tajikistan and Bangladesh set to increase economic cooperation

The authorities of the two countries are set to increase bilateral trade and promote trade and economic cooperation in many areas.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin held a meeting with Ambassador of Bangladesh to Tajikistan Dr Mohammad Monirul Islam on 18 July. 

The interlocutors discussed strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. The creation of a textile joint venture was on the agenda, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reported.

It was noted that the Government of Tajikistan is actively working to expand cooperation with the South Asian countries, including Bangladesh.

The parties discussed increasing trade, setting up joint ventures and developing e-commerce and the digital economy.

The interlocutors proposed that the two countries create business environments conducive to promoting goods in the markets and setting up joint ventures that will manufacture textiles and medicines.
