An over three-hour-long clash erupted between police and students at Narisngdi Sadar Upazila at 3pm Thursday, injuring over 50 and killing at least one individual – a 15-year-old schoolboy.
Tahmid Tamim, 15, died from rubber bullet injuries around 5pm, said Mizanur Rahman, resident doctor at the 100-bed Narsingdi Zilla Hospital. He was a student of class nine at Nasima Kadir Molla High School and Homes.
On Thursday, the students were demanding reform of the quota system in government jobs and justice for the quota reform protesters killed during clashes with police and ruling party’s affiliated bodies across the country over the past few days.
