Students block Dhaka roads, causing traffic chaos

University students in Dhaka blocked various roads across the city on Tuesday, protesting recent attacks on quota reform demonstrators.

The protests have led to severe traffic congestion throughout the capital.

At 10:30 am, students from BRAC University blocked the road in Merul Badda, causing significant disruptions from Rampura to Kuril Bishwaroad. Similarly, ULAB students blocked the Beribadh road at 11:30 am, leading to heavy traffic from Gabtoli to Dhanmondi.

United International University students protested at Pragati Sarani's New Market area, resulting in a standoff with local Chhatra League members.

Students from Dhonia College and Mahbubur Rahman Molla College blocked roads at Shanir Akhra on Chittagong Road, while students from Uttara University, Shanto-Mariam University, and World University blocked roads in Uttara and Airport Road.

In Banani, Prime Asia University students staged protests, and State University students blocked Kuril Bishwaroad. Mirpur 10 saw protests from students of BUET and Bangla College, resulting in major traffic jams.

The Science Lab intersection was blocked by students from various colleges, halting traffic completely.

The widespread roadblocks have caused significant inconvenience for the public, with many commuters forced to walk to their destinations.
