BFF U-18 Football League: Sheikh Russel beat Bashundhara Kings

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd beat Bashundhara Kings by 1-0 goal in a match of the ongoing BFF U-18 Football League 2023-24 at the Bashundhara Kings Arena practice ground on Saturday.
After a barren first half, forward Jomou Marma scored the match winner in the 49th minute.
In the day’s other match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd were held by Brothers Union Ltd at 1-1 goal at the Government Physical Education College Ground in Mohammadpur.
Sheikh Jamal forward Mohin Ahmed took the lead in the 26th minute, but Brothers forward Md Onik equalised the margin in the 45+2nd minute.
Both sides were reduced to 10-man when Sheikh Jamal forward Hossen Ali and Brothers midfielder Abir Hasan Rimon got marching orders after conceding a direct red card each in the 80th minute.
Abahani Ltd Dhaka secured a massive 3-1 goals win over Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd at the Armed Police Battalion field in Uttara.
Abahani’s midfielder Samel Raksam and forwards Yeasin Arafat Saifat, Milon Hosen netted one each in the 10th, 36th, and 73rd minutes while Mohammedan defender Sazid Ahammed reduced the gap in the 76th minute.
In the day’s last match, Fortis Football Club Ltd beat Rahamatganj Muslim Friends Society by 3-0 goals at the Bashundhara Kings Arena practice ground.
Forward Abdur Rahim scored two goals in the 62nd and 69th minutes while midfielder Ibrahim Mia added one in the 85th minute.
After the matches, Abahani are leading the point table with 18 points while Fortis are second with 15 points, Kings remained third with nine points, while Sheikh Russel climbed up fourth with eight points.
Sheikh Jamal, Mohammedan, and Rahamatganj are sharing the same fifth spot with six points each and Brothers are at the bottom with empty-handed.
