The police arrested a man for allegedly giving a death threat to Syed Sayedul Haque Suman, an independent lawmaker from the Habiganj-4 constituency.
Members of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police apprehended Mohammad Sohag in Habiganj on Tuesday night, CTTC chief Md Asaduzzaman told the Daily Sun.
He said that they launched a shadow investigation into a general diary lodged by the MP over the matter.
Sohag was held with the help of technology, he added.
On 29 June, Suman filed the GD with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in the capital seeking security after he was reportedly informed of a plot to kill him.
