Five Bangladeshi expatriates were killed in a car explosion in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Among them, four were residents of Nawabganj and one was of Dohar in Dhaka. 

The accident occurred last Sunday around 10:30am Bangladesh time.

The deceased were identified as Ibadul Islam, son of Sheikh Ibrahim from Nababganj Upazila, Md Rashed, son of Abdul Hakim, Md Rana, son of Lutfar Rahman, Md RAzu, son of Sheikh Irshad and Md Hira Mia, son of Md Manju from Dohar. Four of the deceased were residents of Jaykrishnapur Union.

All of them were employees in the same company in Ajman province of UAE.

Reshma Akhter, Chairman of Jaykrishnapur Union Parishad of Nawabganj Upazila, quoting the relatives of the deceased, said that their car exploded in an accident on Sunday morning while going to work, leaving them dead on the spot.

Later, their expatriate colleagues collected the workplace uniforms and confirmed their identity. 

The death of four people in the same village has cast a shadow of mourning in the area.
