Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) approved a grading system for the local coaches in their Game Development Unit, said an BCB official on Saturday.
The coaches are divided into four grades A, B, C and D while each grade is divided into three categories (1, 2, and 3).
BCB official believed that from the coming days a coach’s performance will be assessed and based on that his salary will be finalized.
Currently the salary cap ranges from nearly Tk 300,000 (highest) to Tk 25,000 (lowest) for the 95 coaches working under the umbrella of BCB Game Development Unit that included centrally contracted 24 coaches along with nine divisional coaches and 62 district coaches.
“There are some gaps in certain districts as the coaches left the job but we are in the process to fill that position,” the BCB official told the Daily Sun on Saturday.
“From now onwards we will assess the performance of the coaches for at least two years and later divide them in different grades based upon their performance,” he added.
“There is a KPI (Key Performance Indicator) set for every position and the performance of a coach will be evaluated through it (KPI),” he added.
