United Hospital is behaving inhumanly with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in providing her adequate medical care, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Monday.
While addressing a function held at the party’s Nayapaltan central office seeking immediate recovery of Khaleda Zia, Rizvi expressed his party’s condemnation to the hospital authorities for denying the three-time former prime minister required medical care.
BNP will not be held accountable if the ordinary people commit any damage to the hospital, said the party leader.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia’s doctor AZM Zahid alleged that he made a request to the United Hospital for an urgent ambulance service when the BNP chief fell sick on Friday night but he was denied.
The 79-year-old BNP chairperson is suffering from various complications, including arthritis, heart disease, lung, liver, kidney and diabetes.
BNP has been urging the government to take Khaleda Zia abroad for advanced treatment but the government is rejecting the plea on a legal ground.
Khaleda Zia has been convicted in corruption cases and the government has suspended her sentence through an executive order on humanitarian ground, enabling her to stay home and receive treatment.
