Fugitive accused of crime against humanity arrested in Jashore

The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) arrested a fugitive accused of crimes against humanity in a raid carried out at the BISIC Industrial area under Jashore Sadar Police Station on Wednesday.
The arrestee, Ruhul Quddus Khan alias Quddus Khan alias Golam Quddus, is a resident of Peruly village under Narail Police Station, Narail, according to a press release.
Based on secret information, a team from the ATU conducted a raid at the Jhumjhumpur BISIC Industrial area around 3:10 pm and arrested him.
A case was lodged against Quddus in 2016 for his involvement in crimes against humanity during the country’s War of Liberation in 1971.
Based on facts and evidence, the International Crimes Tribunal found Quddus guilty and issued an arrest warrant. Since then, the accused has been in hiding.
