Veteran cricket coach Zafrul Ehsan breathed his last on Tuesday morning at the age of 60 ending his nearly one-and-a-half years' of battle with blood cancer.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed mourning in a statement. 

Zafrul joined the staff of BCB in 2006. He served as the head coach and batting of Men's High Performance Team during 2015-2022.

Zafrul also served as the head coach of women's team during 2007-2008, men's under-19 team during 2010-2013, and the batting coach of men's A team.
