Arshdeep Singh struck twice in the first over while Hardik Pandya picked a wicket to keep United States under pressure against India in their Group A game in T20 World Cup 2024 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York on Wednesday.
Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first.
A win will seal India's spot in the Super 8 stage and so is the case with USA. The T20 World Cup debutants are only victory away from entering the next round. Both the teams are unbeaten so far with four points each to their credit.
However, India hold the top spot in the group on the basis of a better net run rate. Pakistan, who are also in Group A, have their Super Eight chances hanging by a thread. If the game between USA and India tonight is abandoned, Pakistan will be eliminated from the tournament.
