The maiden edition of the ‘Embassy Cricket Carnival – 2024’ got underway at the Bashundhara Sporting Complex in the capital on Friday.
The tournament features 16 teams from various international organizations, foreign embassies and high commissions.
The two-day-long cricket carnival is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in association with Gameplay Ltd.
Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Ambassador Masud Bin Momen inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest in the presence of the officials from participating resident missions in Dhaka.
The opening ceremony was followed by group stage matches, leading to the quarterfinals, semifinals and the grand final on the second day.
Team MoFA won all three group matches and qualified for the quarterfinals as group champion on the opening day.
