The 14-party alliance led by the ruling party Awami League (AL) has been inactive for a long time, which has created problems within the coalition. AL advisory council member Aamir Hossain Amu, also the coordinator and spokesperson of the alliance, admitted the matter indirectly saying that there has been a disorder in the alliance, but it will be resolved soon.
He said there would be a meeting with AL leaders before Eid to solve the alliance’s problems. The 14-party coalition will remain united and positive programmes will be given in alliance after Eid.
Amu said these after a meeting of the alliance at his residence of Eskaton in the capital on Tuesday.
Amir Hossain Amu said there will be a meeting with AL leaders soon to resolve the misunderstanding between them and alliance leaders centring the last national election. “After Eid, we will take positive programmes to eliminate the gap and through this, we will proceed.”
The senior AL leader said, “We want to say clearly that the 14-party alliance is an ideological alliance against the conspiracy of sectarian forces and foreign conspirators. It is not a want-to-power alliance. We are working under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina as an alliance of that ideal.”
“The 14 parties are here to deal with domestic and foreign conspiracies unitedly under the strong leadership of Sheikh Hasina. It is our responsibility and duty to fight against the forces with whom we have ideological conflict and these forces are engaged in conspiracy against Sheikh Hasina’s government, Amir Hossain Amu added.
Regarding the increase in the price of goods, he said, “The government says that there is a syndicate. If syndicates exist and are known to the government – the government should take active and effective action against them. So that the difficulties faced by the people regarding the price of goods are resolved, I strongly demand it.”
Announcing to remain united in the coming days, Amu said, “The 14-party alliance existed, exists and will exist. We should and will remain united against the forces against which the 14-party alliance was formed, which are still active, scheming.”
Workers’ Party President Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju, JASAD President Hasanul Haq Inu, JASAD General Secretary Shirin Akhter, Tarikat Federation Chairman Sayed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Ganatantri Party General Secretary Shahadat Hossain, AL Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan and others were also present in the meeting.
