‘Padatik’ adjudged best screenplay at NYIFF

Chanchal Chowdhury-starrer and Srijit Mukherji-directed film “Padatik” has won the Best Screenplay Award at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2024, the oldest and most prestigious film fest in North America. The festival was held from 31 May to 2 June in New York City.  

Srijit Mukherji shared the news on his Facebook account on Monday. “Padatik wins the Best Screenplay Award at the NYIFF 2024. Congratulations to the team,” he wrote along with a picture of Chanchal Chowdhury as Mrinal Sen.  

“Padatik” is based on the life of Bengali filmmaker Mrinal Sen. Chanchal has portrayed the role of the filmmaker in film in the tribute film.  
Besides Chanchal Chowdhury, the film also stars Kolkata actors Monami Ghosh, Jeetu Kamal, Korak Samanta and others.
