Bangladesh’s batting woes continued to haunt them as they suffered a thumping 60-run defeat to India in their final warm-up match ahead of the  ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Saturday.

India, batting first after winning the toss, posted 182 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Top scorer Rishabh Pant bagged 53 runs from 32 balls.

In reply, Bangladesh were bundled out for 122 runs in 20 overs, with two of their top four batsmen failing to score.

Mahmudullah Riyad, batting at number seven, top-scored for Bangladesh with 40 runs, but the other batters failed to impress.

Soumya Sarkar was dismissed for a duck, Litton Das contributed only six runs, and Najmul Hossain Shanto also fell for a duck.

Their poor performance has raised further concerns about Bangladesh's potential outcome in the World Cup.

Earlier, the same batters failed to deliver well in the three-match T20I series against the USA right before the World Cup.

Mahedi Hasan was economical with the ball, giving away 5.5 runs per over, while Shoriful Islam also bowled under 7 runs per over. Both claimed one wicket each.

Bangladesh’s World Cup campaign will begin with a match against their Asian rivals Sri Lanka on June 7th (Bangladesh time June 8th) in Dallas.

Their next match will be against South Africa on June 10th in New York.
