Theatre troupe Aranyak Natyadal will stage its latest theatrical production titled “Company” at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital today.

Prominent actor, director, and playwright Mamunur Rashid has written and directed the play. He will portray an important character in the play, alongside writing and directing it.

About the play, Mamunur Rashid said, “Aranyak always stage plays with a big canvas and huge arrangement. “Company” is no different. This is also a big canvas play like our previous productions “Rarang”, “Sankranti”, and “Jayjayanti”. Though “Company” is completely a history-based drama, the story is still relevant at this time.”  

“Company” is based on a timeline of 1743-1757 when British imperialism began to spread around the globe, especially the Indian subcontinent. The production showcases the conflict between Lord Clive and Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah.

The other cast of the play includes Shajjad Shaju, Shahran Khan, Kamrul Hasan, Syed Shuman, Laila Bilkis, Prince Rashik, Arif Hossain Appel, Rubli Chowdhury and others.

Fayez Zahir has designed the stage, while Thandu Raihan has designed lights. The music for the play is done by Parimal Majumder.

“Company” is the 66th production of Aranyak Natyadal. The play premiered on Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
