An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale was felt in large parts of the country, including Dhaka and Chattogram at 7:13 PM on Wednesday.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 31 km East-southeast (ESE) of Mawlaik, Myanmar, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

People in the capital reported feeling the shocks of the earthquake, taking to social media soon after the earthquake hit.

It was 94.7km depth and its location was 23.539°N 94.695°E, according to the USGS.
