Barapukuria Coal Scam case
Hearing against Khaleda Zia postponed till 5 August

A Dhaka court on Tuesday postponed the hearing of the Barapukuria Coal Mine corruption case.
Judge Md Aktaruzzaman of makeshift Dhaka Special Judge Court-2 at Keraniganj central jail fixed 5 August as the new hearing date.
Seven accused, including former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, were scheduled to appear in the hearing on Tuesday, but the public prosecutor Fatima Akhtar Nila applied for time to appear in court.
Defence lawyer Hannan Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to the Daily Sun.
There were 13 accused in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), but due to the deaths of six of them, there are currently seven defendants in this case.
