Additional Secretary Md Jahidul Islam Bhuiya has been appointed the new managing director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice regarding the appointment of Jahidul, private secretary to the PM’s private industry and investment adviser at the Prime Minister's Office, on Sunday.

Jahidul will replace the current Biman Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Shafiul Azim, who was appointed as the national flag carrier's MD and CEO in December 2022. He will soon join as the secretary of the Election Commission as he was promoted to the new role on 21 May.
