Pacer Mustafizur Rahman returned with the best bowling figure by a Bangladeshi bowler in the shortest format in their comprehensive 10-wicket win over USA during the dead-rubber third and last T20I at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston on Saturday.

The left-arm pacer finished with 6-10 in his alloted four overs to help the visitors restrict the hosts to 104-9 in their 20 overs after they elected to bowl first.

Bangladeshi opening duo Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Soumya Sarkar then produced a brilliant batting display as they didn't give the USA bowlers any chance in the contest by sharing an unbeaten 108-run stand in just 11.4 overs to guide their side home and finish the series with a consolation win.

Tanzid remained not out on 58 off 42 balls while Soumya made 43 off 28 balls for the visitors as they recorded their biggest win by the margin of wickets in this format.

Despite the one-sided victory, Bangladesh finished the series as the losing side after they conceded a five-wicket and six-run defeat respectively in the opening two games.

Earlier on the day, USA surprised everyone by resting their skipper as well as three other key players for the last game while Bangladesh brought in Liton Das and Hasan Mahmud in their squad.

USA got off to a flying start as their openers Andries Gous (27) and Shayan Jahangir (18) put up 46 runs in just five overs before Shakib Al Hasan removed the former to give Bangladesh first breakthrough in the contest.

Since the dismissal of Gous, Bangladesh started to get back into the contest and Mustafizur played the most important role by taking wickets when he was brought in to bowl.

Mustafizur dismissed Jahangir to take his first scalp in the contest while he removed NR Kumar in his next over.
The left-arm pacer then took two wickets each in his last two overs which included the wickets of Corey Anderson (18) and van Schalkwyk (12) to complete the majority of job done for the batters.

With his six-wicket haul, Mustafizur surpassed Elias Sunny's 12-year-old record of 5-13, which Elias had achieved against Ireland in Belfast, and now, Mustafizur has become the only Bangladeshi bowler to take six wickets in a T20I game.

Bangladesh will now face the same opponents in their first warm-up game of the ICC T20 World Cup in Dallas on 28 May.
Bangladesh will play another warm-up against India in New York on 1 June before they take on Sri Lanka on 8 June in their opening Group D match of the forthcoming T20 World Cup in Dallas.
