A fire that broke out at a multistory building in Dhaka’s Shantinagar area on Friday afternoon has been doused.

The fire erupted on the second floor of the 16-storey building and firefighters were alerted to the incident at 1:52pm, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Two units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze at 2:11pm.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

The fire was caused by a short circuit, the fire service added.
