Liton doesn’t want to overthink about his lean patch

Liton is going through hard times to a great extent in the recent past and he’s not any more a sure starter in the playing XI of the Tigers in the shortest format.
Liton can certainly claim to be lucky that his wicket-keeping helped him in retaining his spot in the 15-member World Cup squad after scoring just 79 runs in his last six T20Is.
The right-hander also lost his place in the playing XI in the last two T20Is against Zimbabwe after scoring respectively 1, 23 and 12 in the first three T20Is of the five-match series.
The right-handed batsman’s last T20I innings against Zimbabwe raised quite a few eyebrows after it ended miserably when he failed to play a scoop shot three consecutive times off Blessing Muzarabani and got out by dragging the last ball onto the stumps.
“I don’t think there is nothing to overthink during bad times because the more you overthink, it will only be bad for you,” Liton was quoted on BCB’s official Facebook page.
“The only option left to you is how hard you are working and how much importance you are giving to the practice. I think during bad times, you need to be cool and calm without thinking too much and just focus on your cricket,” he said.
Liton added that both senior campaigners Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah have made the junior players comfortable in the dressing room and it helped them to get over their nervousness.
“I don’t feel seeing Shakib bhai that he is a very old player because the way he behaves, it looks he is very friendly and this is a big thing. In fact, Riyad bhai is also friendly and they try to behave friendly with the junior players so that they become comfortable,” he said.
“Naturally if I see that I am entering a dressing room where a player has been playing international cricket for 15 years, certainly there would be nervousness and from that point of view, our senior cricketers never made us feel that way and they are very jolly-minded,” he concluded.
