Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have arrested 11 muggers from Jatrabari and Airport areas in the capital and Tongi area in Gazipur on Monday.

Several teams of RAB-10 and 1 made the arrests, said the concerned officers of the battalions.

MJ Sohel, assistant director (Media) of RAB-10, said that his team members apprehended four muggers from Jatrabari.

They are Mohammad Sajal, 30, Shanto Hossain, 22, Washim, 24 and Shakil Hossain, 24.

They used to rob passers-by of their cash and other valuables at knife point at Jatrabari and other areas.

In a separate drive, the RAB-1 captured seven more “muggers” from Airport area in the capital and Tongi in Gazipur.
