675 cartons foreign cigarette recovered in Ctg


Officials of Customs Intelligence recovered 675 cartons of foreign cigarettes at Shah Amanat International Airport on Thursday afternoon.


Acting on a tip-off, the officials recovered the cigarettes, worth around TK one crore, from cargo department of the airport, said Dr Moinul Khan, Director General of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence, Chittagong Office.


The cigarettes were brought in seven baggages through a flight of Air Arabia on August 10 last, Dr Moinul said adding that the Customs Intelligence was investigating to find out the passenger who brought the cigarettes.
