The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has announced that regular class activities will resume in government primary schools from Tuesday onwards.
Senior Information Officer Mahbubur Rahman conveyed this information in a press notification issued on Monday.
According to the notification, all activities, including classes at government primary schools, primary schools under the Shishu Kalyan Trust, and learning centres of the Bureau of Non-Formal Education (BNFE), will follow the academic calendar of 2024.
Earlier, the schedule of primary schools had been adjusted due to intense heat. Under the revised schedule, primary schools with one shift operated from 8:00 am to 11:30 am, while schools with two shifts had their first shift from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and the second shift from 9:45 am to 11:30 am. In addition, school assemblies were temporarily halted until the heat wave subsided to a tolerable level.
However, starting from Tuesday, the classes for the first shift will extend until 12:20 pm, and the second shift will continue until 4:15 pm, following the previous schedule.
