Behind his kind facade, Milton Samadder, chairman of 'Child and Old Age Care', used to commit horrific acts of cruelty against the very inmates his care facility was supposed to take care of.
He would derive demonic pleasure from amputating limbs of the care home inmates, revealed Additional Commissioner (Detective Branch) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Harun Or Rashid on Sunday.
While talking to reporters at his office, he said during a three-day remand, the DB police extracted horrific and bone-chilling information from Milton.
The police officer said some knives and blades were found in the so-called operation theatre of the 'Child and Old Age Care' where Milton himself conducted surgeries.
If parts of the bodies of elderly people and differently-abled children got rotten, Milton cut off those with knives and blades, said Harun.
Milton severed the legs, hands and fingers of a number of people, he said. "When the victims cried, he took demonic pleasure. He never took sick people to any hospitals."
The DB found Tk1.25 crore in the bank accounts of Milton who collected the money from different sources in the name of taking care of the elderly people and differently-abled children.
Describing Milton as a drug addict and psychopath, Harun said he beat up people in his torture cell.
He said they also interrogated Milton's wife. "She can't shirk the responsibility for her husband's misdeeds," he said, adding that she knew everything, but did not inform the police. Meanwhile, a Dhaka court on Sunday placed Milton on a four-day fresh remand in a case filed on human trafficking charges.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Shanta Akter granted the remand after police produced him following a three-day remand in another case filed for providing fake death certificates.
The police sought a seven-day remand for him. After the hearing, the court granted a four-day remand, ordering his arrest in the human trafficking case.
Earlier, a team of DB police arrested Milton from his ashram in Mirpur on 2 May.
