Three tea gardens and one export-oriented textile mill of the Ispahani Group have received the Green Factory Award for 2023.
Mirzapore Tea Garden, Zareen Tea Garden, and Ghazipore Tea Garden received the award in the tea category, while Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills in the textile category, reads a press release.
The Ministry of Labor and Employment Affairs presented the awards in acknowledgment of the Group’s commitment to ensuring a labour-friendly and safe working environment.
The Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, under the Ministry of Labor and Employment Affairs, awarded the 'Green Factory Award-2023' to 29 factories/organisations across 12 domestic sectors.
The award ceremony took place at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC) on Sunday.
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad, handed over the awards to Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, director of MM Ispahani Limited, Golam Mustafa, COO-GMTE and Mahbubul Alam COO-PTHM.
Earlier, two tea gardens of Ispahani Group—Ghazipore and Neptune—won the ‘Green Factory Award-2020’. This year's award is yet another recognition of Ispahani Group's strong commitment and consistent efforts to ensure a labour-friendly, safe, and dignified working environment.
