Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen on Sunday urged doctors to behave well while treating patients as they expect amicable behaviour first from them.
“The people of our country are very ordinary and their expectations are limited as well. When they come to doctors, they first expect good behaviour. They become pleased if doctors behave well and listen to them carefully,” he said.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the orientation ceremony of the newly appointed officers of the 41st BCS (Health) and BCS (Family Planning) cadre at the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall in Dhaka.
At the event, Samanta Lal also warned that he would not tolerate any negligence towards patients.
“I am a minister both for physicians and patients. I will neither tolerate any attack on doctors nor their negligence towards patients,” he added.
