Bashundhara Kings’ Brazilian forward Dorielton Gomes Nascimento scored a brace as the league leaders beat Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 2-0 goals in their 13th round match of the ongoing ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League 2023-24 at the Bashundhara Kings Arena on Saturday.
Dorielton gave his side the lead in the 18th minute before he doubled the margin in the injury time of the first half.
Both teams attempted several times in the second half but failed to score any as Kings finished the game with another dominating win.
With this win, Kings remained in the top place with 34 points from 13 matches while Sheikh Jamal slipped to seventh place with 15 points.
Meanwhile, in the day’s other matches, Mohammedan Sporting Club were held to a goalless draw by Bangladesh Police FC in Mymensingh while Chittagong Abahoni Limited crushed Brothers Union by 5-0 goals in Rajshahi.
Mohammedan’s draw against Police FC means Kings now have a seven-point lead over second-placed Mohammedan, who have earned 27 points from 13 matches.
Kings will require only three wins from their remaining five matches to be crowned league champions for a record fifth successive time.
