Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk1,750 to Tk1,15,824 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a hike in the price of the precious metal on the international market.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk9,930 per gram while it is Tk9,480 for 21-carat gold, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) on Saturday.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk8,125 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk6,770 a gram. The new tariff will come into effect from Sunday, the statement reads.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, Tk172 for 21-carat silver, Tk147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
