Abahani Limited maintained their unbeaten run in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2023-24 after they beat Legends of Rupganj by eight wickets at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Saturday.

 Meanwhile, pacer Abu Hider Rony claimed seven wickets in Mohammedan Sporting Club’s dominating nine-wicket win over Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy at the BKSP-3 while second-placed Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Prime Bank Cricket Club by 73 runs in the day’s other match in Mirpur.

Abahani VS Legends of Rupganj

Abahani remain undefeated in DPLIn Fatullah, pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib claimed a career-best 5-23 while other pacers Shoriful Islam (3-29) and Taskin Ahmed (2-16) shared the remaining five wickets as Abahani bowled Legends all out for just 99 runs in 28.3 overs after they elected to bowl first.
Mosaddek Hossain then struck a blistering unbeaten 48 off 18 balls while Anamul Haque Bijoy scored 37 not out as Abahani reached 101-2 in just 10.4 overs to clinch their ninth successive victory in the tournament.

Mohammedan VS Gazi Tyres

Abu Hider finished with a career-best 7-20 while Nasum Ahmed took the other three wickets as Mohammedan bowled Gazi Tyres all out for only 40 runs in 12 overs after Gazi Tyres elected to bat first.

Mohammedan then took only 6.2 overs to reach the target, losing just one wicket to clinch their seventh win in the tournament in nine matches.
Sheikh Jamal VS Prime Bank

Opener Saif Hassan struck 115 off 120 balls while Shykat Ali and Fazle Mahmud also made 43 and 42 runs respectively as Sheikh Jamal posted 292-6 in their 50 overs after they were sent into bat first.

Pacer Hasan Mahmud took three wickets for Prime Bank.

Prime Bank were very much in the game until the dismissal of Tamim Iqbal (69) but after his getting out to Saif (2-44), they lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 219 runs in 44.1 overs to concede their third defeat in the meet.

Tamim, who scored his fifth fifty in the last six DPL innings, luckily escaped four times (three drop catches and a missed run-out chance) during his innings but he failed to make the most use of those opportunities in the innings which hurt his team big in the contest.
Sheikh Jamal’s Tipu Sultan finished with 4-53.
