Students from various madrasahs in the northern part of Dhaka have been provided with iftar meals by Bashundhara Group.

Around 7,500 teachers and orphans from 35 Islamic schools in Khilkhet, Kuril, and the Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital participated on Saturday, the nineteenth day of the holy month.

Under the noble initiative of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, around 21,000 units of iftar meals are being distributed in different parts of the country every day in the month of Ramadan.

Around 80 people arrived at Darut Takwa Model Madrasah in the Kuril Bishwa Road area of the capital just before the Asr prayer on Saturday and were provided with iftar by the Bashundhara group.

The iftar meal includes chhola bhuna, piyaju, beguni, alur chop, jilapi, and fruits.

Darut Takwa Model Madrasah head teacher Mufti Abdul Wahid Abrar said that the Islamic school has eight teachers and 120 students.

“Of the 85 regular students, 40 are residents, while orphans and vulnerable children study in this madrasah. This is the first time the madrasah has received iftar meals from Bashundhara Group,” he said.

Hafez Mohammad Yasin, a nine-year-old student, has memorised two volumes of the Quran as a residential learner.

He said students of the madrasah always pray for Bashundhara Group as the company extends support to Islamic activities.
