Among all the lucrative features of the ICCB Puran Dhaka Iftar Bazar at the International Convention City Bashundhara, hygiene is one such aspect that attracts the iftar buyers most to the cleanest Iftar market of the capital.
From choosing and buying ingredients to preparing food items and displaying those in stalls, the whole arrangement maintains a high standard of hygiene protocol so that buyers get a homemade feel while taking Iftar.
“I depend on ICCB Puran Dhaka Iftar Bazar for delicious iftar items for the last several years. The best thing about this Iftar bazar is the whole arrangement is organised and many of the items are cooked in front of our eyes,” Habibur Rashid, a businessman hailing from Nikunja, told this correspondent while purchasing Iftar items at ICCB Puran Dhaka Iftar Bazar on Thursday.
According to him, the preparation of food maintaining hygiene, presentation of those at the clean air-conditioned hall and availability of so many quality eateries under the same roof attract food lovers there.
Besides, as the Iftar stalls are set up in a hall, no dust can mix with the Iftar items, he added.
Eateries said they are committed to delivering their best to satisfy the customers and that is why they are getting huge responses.
“We prepare all our iftar items maintaining the highest standard of hygiene. We have a separate team to check the quality of our food. Therefore, customers completely rely on us. I don’t know whether any other iftar outlet of the country maintains similar standards or not,” Md Jasim Uddin, in-charge of ICCB Heritage Restaurant, told the Daily Sun.
He said this year they haven’t brought Boro Baper Polay Khay, one of the most popular kebab items of Old Dhaka, as this can’t be prepared while keeping cleanliness standard maintained.
“Our first priority is to ensure cleanliness,” the ICCB Heritage Restaurant in-charge said, adding that they have a live kitchen adjacent to the Iftar bazar so that buyers can look into the process of preparing iftar.
Iftar buyers’ main attractions were Kacchi Biryani, Mutton Leg Roast, Chicken Masallam, Reshmi Kebab, Jali Kebab, and Chaslik on Thursday.
They took Tanduri, Chicken BBQ, Mutton and Beef Haleem, Luchi, Porata, Ghugni Chat, Vegetable Lollipop, Momo, Cutlet, Kima Chop, Pudding, Jarda, Lobongo Lotika, Rosh Malai, Reshmi Jilapi, Tiler Jilapi, Borhani and Labang and different types of fruit juices as well.
Some 15 catering companies are participating in the bazar with numerous food items at 28 stalls set up at the Pushpanjali Hall of ICCB.
The Iftar bazar starts at 3pm every day. The arrangement will continue till the 25th of Ramadan, said the organisers.
