Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu celebrates Independence Day

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu celebrated the 53rd Anniversary of the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh with great festivities.
In the morning, the national flag was hoisted at the Embassy premises by Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury in the presence of officials of the Embassy and members of the Bangladesh community.
Special prayers were offered for continued peace and progress of the country and salvation of the souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his martyred family members, national leaders and all the valiant freedom fighters and martyrs of the glorious war of liberation.
In the discussion session organised on the significance of the day, messages given by the President and Prime Minister were read out. Secretary General of SAARC, Md. Golam Sarwar attended the programme as the Special Guest.
Earlier, on 6th March 2024, the Embassy organised a diplomatic reception which was attended by a large number of guests. Vice President of Nepal Ramsahay Prasad Yadav graced the occasion as the chief guest. It was attended by political leaders, diplomats, high civil and military officials and members of civil society as well as the Bangladesh community living in Nepal.
