Bashundhara Shuvosangho, a humanitarian initiative of Bashundhara Group, distributed Iftar items among the poor and needy people at the Station-College intersection in front of the Kurigram Collectorate School and College on Friday.

Poor people in Kurigram have expressed gratitude to Bashundhara Group for providing iftar during the month of holy Ramadan.

Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed Bangla national dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided the aid through its social organisation Shuvosangho.

On Friday afternoon, the quality iftar meals were distributed among at least 100 poor people including pedestrians and rickshaw pullers.

Khairul Anam, president of the district unit of Shuvosangho, said, “The initiative was taken to bring happiness to the poor people during the holy month of Ramadan.”

“In different times in Kurigram, we helped to the poor students with education materials, poor families with wave tins and the cold-hit poor people with warm clothes with the fund of Bashundhara Group,” Khairul said.

Among others, the Shuvosangho unit general secretary Principal Harun Ar Rashid, Kurigram Government College unit president Mahmudul Hasan and its general secretary Shazzadur Rahman were present at the event.
