Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan is likely to play in the second Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka.
A top BCB official confirmed the development adding that they are expecting him to be available if he is fit to go.
“We are expecting him to be available in the second Test and now waiting for his call,” said the official.
Shakib did not take part in the white-ball series against Sri Lanka after missing the New Zealand tour as he was not feeling comfortable with his fitness.
He recently played for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
Bangladesh are missing the service of experienced campaigner Mushfiqur Rahim in the Test series after he received a finger injury.
Bangladesh are currently playing the two-match Test series opener at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium while the second Test is scheduled at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from March 30.
