Art exhibition ‘Verdant Verse’ at Aloki

An art exhibition titled “Verdant Verse” (Harit Padya), hosted by Shunno Art Space and Neighbourhood Art Space is underway at Aloki in the capital’s Tejgaon Gulshan Link Road.  

Beginning on Friday, the 3-day exhibition aims to shed light on pressing issues surrounding climate change and environmental preservation through artistic expression.

Director of the Department of Environment at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Md. Ziaul Haque was present at the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Besides, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Chief Executive of the Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (Bela), and Artist Nasim Ahmed Nadvi were in attendance as honourable guests.

In February, “Chalantika”, a mobile studio, organised a three-day printmaking workshop, delving deeply into the impacts of climate change and the urgency of environmental preservation. Engaging students and youth from Golaidanga Muktijudda Memorial College, Golaidanga Primary School, and Golaidanga High School in Manikganj, Singair Upazila, this workshop has ignited remarkable creativity.

About 384 participating students’ works are being displayed in the exhibition. This exhibition is centered on their exploration of climate change and environmental conservation through the medium of printmaking.

“Verdant Verse” will remain open till tomorrow from 4 pm to 8 pm.
