A Cumilla court today denied bail of Jagannath University (JnU) teacher Din Islam, who was sent to jail yesterday in a case over the death of Law Department student Fairuz Abontika by suicide.

Meanwhile, the same Cumilla court sent Abontika's classmate Amman Siddique to jail as he was produced before the court today after a two-day remand. 

The Cumilla court on Monday also ordered the investigation officer of the case to submit a report within seven days.

Abontika, a student of the 2017-18 academic year of the JnU Law Department, hanged herself at her Cumilla residence after accusing her classmate Amman and assistant proctor Din Islam in a Facebook post around 10 pm on Friday.
