Shahriar Shakil and Apurba
Finally, all the allegations against actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba, including breach of contract by production company Alpha-I, have been resolved after the meeting with the Television and Digital Programme Producers Association of Bangladesh (Telepab) and the Actors Equity Bangladesh.
Apart from Apurba, Alpha-i’s managing director Shahriar Shakil, President of Actors’ Equity Ahsan Habib Nasim, and General Secretary Rawnak Hasan, Telepab President Monowar Pathan and General Secretary Sazu Muntasir were present in the six-hour meeting at Telepab’s office in the capital’s Niketan on Saturday.
At the end of the meeting, it was informed through a notification that although the complaint was called embezzlement, it was actually a work contract dispute.
The statement stated that both parties have not fully completed the work according to the agreement. According to the contract, Apurba acted in nine dramas and agreed not to do the remaining dramas. In that case, both parties will coordinate the advance payment for the rest of Apurba’s dramas. Apurba will return the extra money taken for the projects he did not acted in. The money will be given through Telepab.
Earlier on 14 March, a legal notice was sent to actor Apurba for accusing contract breach and schedule manipulation by production company Alpha-i.
