A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader was shot dead in a factional clash in Comilla on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Arnab, 32, son of Md Azhar. He was a student of Cumilla Victoria Government College and Joint Convener of the Committee proposed by Comilla South District Chhatra Dal.

Four others were also injured in the clash. The injured were taken to the Comilla Medical College Hospital.

Firoz Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said two groups clashed around 3:00 pm over establishing supremacy over a human hauler stand in Shasangachha area. A man was shot dead in the incident.

No one has been arrested and no case lodged in this connection yet, the police officer added.
