Four die as fish-laden truck overturns in Cumilla

Four people died as a fish-laden truck overturned at Elliotganj on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on Monday morning.
The incident also left three people injured.
The incident took place at 6:00 am today. The in charge of the Elliotganj Highway Police Outpost confirmed the information.
The deceased are Rafiqul Islam of Satkhira and three others, Monir Hossain, Habibur Rajman, and Akhter Hossain from Monpura in Bhola district.
Citing locals, police officer Faruk Molla said the truck was heading towards Dhaka from Noakhali.
When the truck approached the Elliotganj area, it hit another truck in front and overturned. At this time, four people were critically injured when they were crushed under the vehicle.
Later, the injured persons were taken to the nearest health complex at Chandina upazila. But the doctors declared them dead.
The bodies were kept at the Elliotganj Police Outpost.
The ill-fated truck was seized. After completion of the legal formalities, the bodies will be handed over to the families.
