27 ‘teen gang members’ held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have held 27 members of five teen gangs.

Several teams of RAB-3 held them from Shahjahanpur, Sabujbagh, Shyampur and Bangshal in the capital on Monday night. 

Of the members, five are of ‘The Rabbi Group,’ seven of ‘The Hridoy Group,’ three of ‘The Munna Group,’10 of ‘The Rocky Group’ and two of ‘The Hasan Group.’

Lt Col Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed, commanding officer (CO) of the RAB-3, briefed this to reporters at his office on Tuesday.

The arrestees are Rabbi, 20, Hridoy, 20, Munna, 20, Hasan, 20, Abdur Rashid Ishak alias Rocky, 26, Shuvo, 20, Sifat, 18,  Rakib, 18, Tonmoy, 18, Milon, 19, Rajon, 19, Yasin, 19, Emon, 18, Abu Tawhid Safir, 20, Siam, 19, Rakibul Islam, 20, Zakir Hossain, 30, Rakib, 23, Nafis Hossain alias Munna, 24, Mohammad Shuvo, 22, Rabiul Sheikh, 24, Mosharraf, 25, Sohel, 27, Shuvo, 27, Babul Khan, 36, Nazrul Huq, 32 and Babul Hossain, 36. 

During primary interrogation, they said that each of the group has 15-20 members, said the RAB officer. 

“The arrestees used to commit mugging, extortion, robbery and other crimes in the areas,” Arif Mohiuddin said.
