A female domestic help died after falling from the rooftop of a building in the capital’s Malibagh area on Monday morning.
The deceased Anwara Begum, 40, was a resident of Brahmanbaria district and had been working at the residence of Md Tariqul Islam, assistant commissioner of the Detective Branch of police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahjahanpur police station Sujit Kumar Saha said she suddenly slipped and fell on the ground while walking on the roof of the 10-storey building in Malibagh Railgate area around 11:30am, becoming seriously injured.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took her to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared her dead.
The body was kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy, added the OC.
The exact cause of death would be known after the autopsy report, he further said.
Earlier this month, a teenage domestic help died after falling from the eighth floor of a residential building in the capital’s Mohammadpur area.
Preeti Uran, 15, from Mittingga village of Kamalganj in Moulvibazar, had been working at the house of Syed Ashfaqul Haque, executive editor of The Daily Star.
