Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said the size of the cabinet may increase after lawmakers of reserved seats for women swear in.
He told this to reporters after a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Mantytskiy at the minister’s secretariat office in Dhaka.
When asked about the cabinet expansion, Quader said the prime minister can say about this matter.
But, new cabinet members would be included in the labour and employment ministry, and the cultural affairs ministry at some point, he added.
At present, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is heading both ministries among others. She formed the cabinet with 25 ministers and 11 state ministers on 11 January after winning the 12th general election.
